I recently recovered one of my oooold neopets accounts and it really hit me in the nostalgia. It also helped me realize how spoiled we are here on subeta. Neo runs half on the old layout and half on this mobile game lookin thing, but it is slow AF and clunky to navigate. The shop search functions are hot garbage. Most of the onsite art is still crusty and ancient. My poor sweet starving abandoned pets pages were all broken images and just cringe worthy text from the mind of the teenage edge lord I was. Sort of hilarious, but I'm glad to have deleted it from the face of the internet XD

The thing I miss most has to be the creative pet designs people had and silly pet RP on the forums. I remember being SO inspired by people who could draw and code. Adoptables were so fun to collect. I'm glad we can still customize our pets here and I'm heckin thankful for a site that looks clean and functions smoothly. (most of the time ♥)

IDK what the point of this post is, maybe we can light a candle for our lost accounts and pets with real word names. lol

The last time mine ever looked back, was in 2019 or so. But the experience was dealt a death blow when mine was frozen overnight.

In character mine closed the portal node to that system and later rescued mine beloved pets. (The IRL version is mine found the toy versions and moved on.)

Mine does miss the pets left behind, some of them would be in their teens and twenties. Perhaps as consolation mine oldest is a Talking Purple Shoyru plushie, who is twenty years old.

Tho not a petsite per se, mine stopped playing Temtem on Switch, after disconnecting mine home internet. Mine will miss the motley collection of critters from their floating continents.

It's always interesting to hear other people talk about neopets. Tbh, I never played it when I was younger (although I had a lot of friends who did), so I didn't really have any personal experience with the site. But earlier this week I decided to try it out because a couple of my friends still play it and I watch some youtubers who play it as well.

I had the account for probably like, 15 minutes before I couldn't handle it anymore 😂 Everything was just so...ugly lol. Not like, the art style or anything, I just mean like the colours were so terrible to look at that I really couldn't handle it for very long, especially when trying to play the "fashion" games and stuff. Obviously no offence to anyone who enjoys neopets. I just personally couldn't stand looking at it...

I played DapperVolk for a month or so when it launched. Gorgeous art, but there wasn't really a whole lot to do lol

I checked on Neopets on my ancient account around the same time.....no thanks lol that shit somehow got even more confusing

Man, I backed DapperVolk on kick starter. But the heavy gacha style of play just really isn't my thing. So many of the quests depended on it too. Art is soooo pretty too. Just can't realistically afford all the really dope cosmetics. Big bummer for me personally.

I just found my ooold neopets account as well, I started messing around only to realize the site is still broken in too many places. :/

I returned to my Neo account a few months back right around the time that they got the buyout and Dom took over. I honestly played religiously and had tons of fun until a soft ban a few days ago, which is when I resurrected this Subeta account. the differences between the two sites is astounding to say the least. I will continue to play both moving forward, but I find myself more on Subeta now for sure.

I found out about neoclones a couple months ago and got really into ModernNeopets, which is like Neopets as it was before 2007, plus some really nice quality of life adjustments, and unlimited pet slots. It's surprisingly good for being coded by one person, but it's grown a bit too fast and they had to close applications. It's hard to go back to Neopets after playing the improved version. There isn't a ton to do on ModernNeopets though, as it's a work in progress, which is what lead me to come back here after leaving this account unused for almost 10 years.

Though I never played Neo Pets I am currently on PokeFarm Q, Poliwager, Click Critters, Wolvden and many other.

I am on Dappervolk but it just doesn't do much for me. Furvilla is another one but after a point I stopped logging in and only do so occasionally. Flight Rising and Dragon Cave as well as Xanje are ones I frequent.

I did play WolfPlay but it is not much fun and when you go exploring you can only see where you've been and..well, it's ok but tedious to play.

LOL, same sentient here buddy, S-A-M-E I'm trying giving it a shot one in a while these days with the new daily quest they implemented but... It's too slow... (and every click I do in there is like "In subeta this works better" for real) For example, I get a new item I knew nothing about it, wanna check the value? Neopet: Copy the name, go to SW, paste the name search for it 3 or 4 time because SW search randomly. Subeta: roll over the item, there, done, if you wanna be extra sure you can do one (1) search in shops, with a link handy placed in the same roll over.

The "Click economy" is so much better here... well... almost everything is, sorry neo.

Also there was this game... Tattered World, I used to play it a lot when it went live and then I suddenly sttoped, but it was nice overall, maybe check on it later os something.

There was another site I really loved and it was caleed 'Cattesserie' or something. I loved collecting the kitties and going on little scouting missions but the person who ran the website shut it down shortly afterwards and never mentioned it to newcommers.

Another one was Silvawolf or something like it. Really enjoyed it until the webmaster kept dinking with it, begging for money and forcing people to re-register their accounts. It was too bad 'cuz the artwork was really nice too. The same webmaster had a similar site but with dragons I think. Nice sites, nice artwork but poor management.

This place is really great though and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.

I was pretty surprised at how slow neo still is. I've also noticed that it HATES if you try to go back a page, you can really only successfully move forward. Also all the captcha things when I'm trying to look at someones profile/pet page is stupid. But I will say getting a pet color you want seems more obtainable now. I was able to paint a pet at the fountain thanks to a quest. And a random kind user sent me a draik morphing potion. Wild times. lol

I started playing Neopets again a little over a month ago but I definitely find myself on Subeta way more. There's just more to do imo. I've always love virtual pet sites but I haven't found any others that really keep my interest

i played alot of different ones but i always find my way back to subeta and neopets .... they lack something that i cant figure out whats missing .... so for now its only neopets and subeta for me

ever since I found subeta it's been hard to keep logging in to neopets. everything is so much better designed here and actually works. the only thing I miss is pet customization but the tradeoff is worth it

also I've had enough with TNT wrongfully permanently freezing longtime players for supposed cheating because of their terribly outdated cheat detection. people getting frozen for playing on public wifis, playing on mobile data, using vpns, even though all of those things are either explicitly allowed or not specified, ostensibly because someone else on the public wifi or temporary IP address was cheating. meanwhile it's confirmed that TNT members are cheating items for the black market. their rules are so vague and inconsistent that everyone is constantly paranoid about doing something they're not supposed to on an alt because it's so easy to, or setting off their overactive cheat detection and losing their account forever with no appeal. I've heard of people losing accounts on subeta too but it doesn't seem to be nearly as bad. it seems a lot easier here to not get in trouble just by intuition.

I still log onto Neopets daily, and also play on one of the pre-conversion neo-clones regularly.

Today! Neopets, Marapets, and Webkinz if you can count that.

popped my head into Neo a couple weeks ago when I got the itch. was quickly reminded of why I always leave. and now here I am! what a story.

I log in to Neo daily, mostly for the lab and to not miss event rewards. I'm too nervous to use the boards there, because of how easily players get frozen. I'm stuck indoors for awhile, so I recently found my way to Subeta. It is so (wonderfully) different from Neo! I'm still figuring everything out here, but the item previews alone make things so much easier.
